Congratulations to DINS faculty member Peter Brusilovsky, who recently received a National Science Foundation grant of $247,739.00 for his project, C-3PE Comprehensive Personalized Programming Practice Environment. Brusilovsky will lead a team of researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and North Carolina State University to leverage AI and advances in Learning Science to provide computer science students with personalized learning experiences. The C-3PE system will provide recommended exercises to students and then detailed feedback based on dynamic models of the learner's knowledge. Brusilovsky is a full professor in the Department of Informatics and Networked Systems and Chair of the Intelligent Systems Program in the School of Computing and Information. He is internationally recognized for his research on intelligent tutoring systems, e-learning, adaptive Web systems, and Human-Computer Interaction.
