DINS PhD Student, Nitish Chandra, Selected As Pittsburgh Quantum Institute Fellow

The Department of Informatics and Networked Systems congratulates Nitish Chandra, a PhD student, on being selected as one of the Spring 2024 PQI (Pittsburgh Quantum Institute) Fellows!  Nitish and his co-hort will work closely with the PQI to promote the Institute's mission while they pursue research in quantum science and engineering. The Institute was founded in 2012 to promote quantum science and engineering in Pittsburgh, with members coming from Pitt, CMU, and Duquesne University.

Nitish, who is advised by DINS faculty Kaushik Seshadreesan, joined the Department in September 2022 after earning his BS-MS degree at the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) in Kolkata. His research interests include models for distributed fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures, classical and quantum networks, and strategies for entanglement distribution in quantum networks.
